Variables
Golden-crowned Kinglet
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with annual
precipitation more than 1508 mm. Almost as likely to occur in
somewhat drier hexagons (581-1508 mm annual precipitation) if July
maximum temperature (hex. max.) is 24-30 C or if less than 24% big
sagebrush shrubland is present. In yet drier areas, it occurred mainly in
hexagons with July precipitation (hex. avg.) of 12-25 mm. In the driest
part of its Oregon range, it occurred mostly in hexagons with more
than 2% ponderosa pine - juniper forest. The logistic regression
analysis showed positive or negative association with Douglas-fir - w.
hemlock - red cedar forest, ponderosa pine forest, big sagebrush
shrubland, April precipitation (hex. avg.), July minimum temperature
(hex. avg.), July precipitation (hex. max.), and-to a lesser degree-
April minimum temperature (hex. max.) and the extent of public land.
